Who should the Yankees want to play in the World Series?

Juan Soto is proving how much he will be worth this offseason. But before he worries about how many zeros there will be in the contract he signs this winter, he gets to play for a World Series.

Soto hit a 3-run home run in the top of the 10th inning to secure a 5-2 victory and a 4-1 series victory over the Cleveland Guardians. It was the New York Yankees' first American League championship since 2009.

Who will the Bronx Bombers face if they win the World Series? Well, that’s what we have to wait for as the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets. Game 6 in the NLCS takes place on Sunday and the Dodgers lead 3-2.

There is no good answer here at this point in the year. The Dodgers have a bullpen deep enough to challenge the Yankees' hitters throughout the series. That season, the Dodgers won the series 2-1. It would be a game of which team had the timely hits.

Oh, what would a Subway Series championship look like? That would certainly be poetic. But if the Mets manage to rattle off three straight wins and win the National League after a 3-1 deficit, that's a team you don't want to play against. The Mets have some strong hitters and they have shown that they can run up the score when needed.

If I were the Yankees, I would take my chances on the Dodgers. As good as they are and as good as their bullpen is, the Yankees' hitters would make the difference. Both matchups would be good, but the Dodgers could be better than the Mets.
