CB Donte Jackson left against Jets with a shoulder injury

CB Donte Jackson is out with a shoulder injury against the New York Jets, the team announced.

Jackson left the game after a 57-yard catch-and-run by RB Breece Hall and was replaced by CB James Pierre. The team initially reported that Jackson was expected to return, but he has not returned since leaving the game in the second quarter and has now been officially ruled out.

Jackson has been a key piece in the Steelers' secondary this season with three interceptions and served as the team's No. 2 outside corner opposite Joey Porter Jr.

Losing him to the Jets hurts as New York has a plethora of weapons in the passing game with Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams. But rookie CB Beanie Bishop Jr. followed up with two interceptions tonight, and the Steelers did a good job containing New York's downfield passing attack.

Jackson struggled with a shoulder injury throughout the season, but it was not serious enough to require him to miss time. But after attempting to turn Hall's catch-and-run into a tackle, he was unable to get back into the game. Hopefully this doesn't stop him in the long run, but we won't be seeing Jackson again tonight.
