Minneapolis – Aidan Hutchinson wasn't able to go to US Bank Stadium to watch the Detroit Lions battle the Vikings for the early lead in the NFC North, but he made sure to keep a close eye on his team from a distance.

Hutchinson, still recovering from the broken tibia and fibula he suffered against the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 13, watched Detroit beat Minnesota with a 31-29 home win. His House of Hutch brand's Instagram page posted several pictures on Sunday afternoon that featured Hutchinson and his family, including his father, Chris, and his mother, Melissa.

“Game day looked a little different today,” the post read, along with a sad emoji and a blue heart. “But we are counting on our blessings and another Lions win!!!!!!”

Hutchinson also posted a short video to his brand's Facebook account.

“What are you guys doing? The operation is still a week away. The first few days were a little tough, but now we're on the road to recovery and just attacking every day,” Hutchinson said. “I would like to thank all the children who made the videos for me. I would like to thank all my teammates, all the fans and the support on all social media. It was great and I'm feeling great. I just pushed through.”

“Today I saw the Lions win. This is a big victory. I'm so happy for her. We’re going to keep pushing and keep pushing this thing forward day by day.”

Hutchinson's injury ended his regular season, but the Lions are keeping the door open for a possible return should they advance to the Super Bowl. Head coach Dan Campbell said Hutchinson, who led the league in sacks and pressures before his injury, is expected to require four to six months to recover.

The Super Bowl is scheduled for February 9, four days before the fourth month break.

Without Hutchinson, the Lions secured a tough win over the previously undefeated Vikings. Detroit fell behind by 10 early and trailed late after turning the ball over, but it recovered when it needed to and kicker Jake Bates knocked down a 44-yarder to take the lead with 15 seconds left.

The Lions now not only lead the NFC North through the first seven weeks of the season, but are also in the driver's seat in the entire NFC.
