“Tyler, the Creator” casts Ayo Edibiri as Crazed Fan in “Noid” video

“Tyler, the Creator” casts Ayo Edibiri as Crazed Fan in “Noid” video

Tyler, the Creator is preparing to release his new album “Chromakopia” while also releasing his new song and video for “Noid.”

“Noid” is a meditation on the rapper’s paranoia about being a public figure and his lack of privacy. Actress Ayo Edebiri appears in the video as a crazy fan, running toward Tyler with tears streaming down her face (and a gun in her hand) as Tyler sings, “Feel it in my aura, live between cameras and recorders.”

The rest of the images show Tyler fleeing from invisible figures that seem to manifest in his head. In one instance, he stands alone in a room looking at his reflection of a man holding a gun to his head, and in another, he swings his fists at no one in particular in a parking lot.

“Noid” is the latest taste of “Chromakopia,” which he announced last week for release on October 28th. Accompanying the album announcement was a two-minute clip for a song titled “St. Chroma,” which showed a masked Tyler leading a line of masked people marching through the desert.

“Chromakopia” is the first new music from Tyler since last year’s expanded version of his 2021 album “Call Me If You Get Lost.” He plans to perform music from “Chromakopia” for the first time at his Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival, taking place November 16th and 17th at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The festival features additional performances from Erykah Badu, André 3000, Omar Apollo, Playboi Carti, Doechii, Kaytranada, the Marias and more.
