Francis Bean Cobain and Riley Hawk welcome their first child

Frances Bean Cobainthe daughter of Courtney Love and the late Kurt Cobain welcomed their first child with her husband Riley Hawk earlier this month. In a post on her Instagram account on Sunday, Cobain revealed that the couple's baby boy, Ronin Walker, Cobain Hawkwas born on September 17th.

“Welcome to the most beautiful son in the world,” she captioned a carousel with black-and-white images showing the infant's tiny hands and feet and one showing doting new dad Hawk cuddling the baby. “We love you more than anything.”

The two-week-old has famous grandparents on both sides: Not only does Cobain come from rock royalty, but Hawk himself is the son of an all-time skateboarding legend Tony Hawk.

The elder Hawk commented on his daughter-in-law's post, “My favorite grandchild!” This is his first grandchild; Tony Hawk has four children and has been married four times. The proud grandpa didn't share any shots of the baby on his own social media, but did include one of himself with the infant on his lap on his Instagram Story, followed by several shots of The Breeders. Alanis Morissetteand Pearl Jam are playing the Ohana Festival in Southern California this weekend.

Riley Hawk followed in his father's footsteps and is also a professional skateboarder. He and Cobain married on October 7, 2023 in a ceremony officiated by Cobain's godfather, the REM frontman Michael Stipe. Cobain first confirmed her relationship with Hawk in an Instagram post at the start of 2022, citing Hawk as one of the things that brought her “a lot of joy” over the past year. She was previously married to Isaiah Silvafrom whom she finalized her controversial divorce in 2017.
