President betting odds from Smarkets, 538, Betfair and more

Is Donald Trump on track to win the election?

Depends on who you ask.

If the betting odds are anything to go by, Trump will get a second chance to make America great again.

According to realclearpolling, Republican candidate Trump has a 59 percent chance of winning the election, compared to 39.8 percent for Vice President Kamala Harris.

And according to Realclearpolling, Trump is the big favorite on all major betting sites.

BetOnline gives Trump a 59 percent chance of winning, Harris has 40 percent. Betfair and Smarkets have a record of 57-38, with Trump in the lead.

Bwin and Points System have a score of 60-40 with Trump in the lead, Bettson has a score of 61-49 in favor of Trump. Bovada has it 58-41.

Trump's odds continued to rise in October and he is now looking at his best betting odds since July. But that lead went against Joe Biden, who resigned this summer, paving the way for Harris to run.

The odds all have Trump as the favorite, but a new poll from USA Today says the race is even.

Harris and Trump share the battle for black and Latino voters in the USA TODAY poll

An exclusive USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll found Harris received 45% of support among 1,000 likely voters while Trump received 44%, showing a tighter race than in the August poll. Then, following the Democratic National Convention, Vice President Harris led the former president by five percentage points, 48% to 43%.

Harris has also lost ground among Latino voters, who now support Trump 49% to 38%, and among black voters. They favor Harris 72% to 17%, a 55-point margin well below the Democrats' traditional margin.

Trump has made a concerted effort to win the votes of Hispanic and black voters, particularly men, focusing on issues such as the economy and crime. His success in eroding the Democrats' typical advantage raised alarms in Harris' camp and prompted a rebuke of former President Barack Obama's rejection of black men who he said might be hesitant to vote for a woman .

CBS' “60 Minutes” denies allegations that Harris' interview was misleadingly edited

CBS' “60 Minutes,” which recently conducted its traditional primary interview with Harris, dismissed allegations from Trump and his allies that it fraudulently edited a segment of the conversation.

Trump's campaign has alleged that CBS edited different responses for different shows on the network, including “60 Minutes” and “Face the Nation.”

However, the long-running news show said in a statement this week: “60 Minutes gave Face the Nation an excerpt of our interview that used a longer portion of her answer than 60 Minutes did.” Same question. Same answer. But another part of the reaction,” the network said in a statement.

“When we edit interviews, be it with politicians, athletes or movie stars, we strive to be clear, precise and to the point. “The portion of their response to '60 Minutes' was more succinct, leaving time for other topics in a wide-ranging 21-minute segment,” they added.

Trump declined to participate in an interview with “60 Minutes” before Election Day.

When will the election results be announced?

It is not clear exactly when the election results will be announced, as the timing depends on various factors. Every state handles its elections differently, from weeks of early voting to strict voter ID laws.

However, you can expect delays.

Some key swing states that Trump and Harris are competing for, such as Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, will not be allowed to begin processing absentee and absentee ballots until Election Day, which is expected to slow counting.

When can you vote for president?

There are several ways to vote in the general election. Depending on where you live, you can vote early by mail or in person. You can also wait until you go to a polling place on November 5, Election Day, to cast your vote.

USA TODAY provides a breakdown of when early voting has begun or will begin in states. The first state in the country to begin voting was Alabama, which sent out mail-in ballots on September 11th. Alabama does not have early in-person voting options.

Seven states are expected to open early in-person or in-person early voting options on Monday, including Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, South Carolina and Texas.

Elon Musk's $1 million reward plan raises questions about election interference

Elon Musk's promise to donate $1 million to a person who signed his online petition every day leading up to Election Day is sparking concerns among some election law experts who say it could potentially be election interference.

Musk, the world's richest person, announced the lottery at a Trump rally on Saturday in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, when he presented the first $1 million check to an attendee named John Dreher.

“The only thing we're asking for the million dollars is that you be the spokesperson for the petition,” Musk said as Dreher held up a cardboard cutout of the million-dollar check.

Giving rewards to people for voting or registering to vote is a federal crime punishable by prison time, legal experts say.

“It is illegal to make a million-dollar prize dependent on registering to vote,” wrote Rick Hasen, election law expert and director of the Safeguarding Democracy Project, in a widely read post to X on Saturday. “Because the PA registration for this election ends soon, it may not achieve what Musk wants.”

In an interview on NBC's “Meet the Press,” Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro called the giveaways “deeply troubling.”

“When you start pouring so much money into politics, I think it raises serious questions,” he said.

“This is something law enforcement could look at,” he added.

Election Day, November 5th, is not a federal holiday.

However, some states observe it as a holiday and close state offices on the day, including New York, Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, Indiana and at least eight others.

The District of Columbia and 24 states offer paid leave to workers to vote. Some other states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts and Wisconsin, offer time off to vote but without guaranteed pay.

Where is Harris campaigning?

Kamala Harris will be in Wisconsin on Monday, campaigning alongside former Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., one of Trump's most vocal critics.

According to the Harris campaign, the pair plans to appear together in a series of three “moderated conversations” in suburban swing-state communities.

Beginning in Chester County, Pennsylvania, west of Philadelphia, Harris and Cheney then stop in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, west of Milwaukee and Oakland County, Michigan, northwest of Detroit.

Cheney joined Harris on the campaign trail this month after endorsing the vice president in September.
