Lions' Jameson Williams suspended for violating NFL's PED policy

The Lions will be without one of their weapons in the next two games.

Jameson Williams is suspended two games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, ESPN's Eric Woodyard reported.

Williams told the reporter that he was disappointed by the situation but had “no choice but to make light of it.”

“I am in good spirits and ready to get back to my brothers as soon as possible,” Williams added.

It was not immediately clear what substance Williams tested positive for.

Williams has 17 catches for 363 yards and three touchdowns so far this season, and his speed extends down the field to give the rest of the offense more room to maneuver.

Williams was previously suspended for six games in 2023 for violating the league's gambling policy by betting on other sports at the team facility or hotel.

“It hit me out of the blue and it hit a few other players in the league and on my team out of the blue,” Williams said at the time. “I wasn't aware of this situation but when it happened, like I said, I took it on the chin. I was ready to move on as things developed. I accepted the consequences. That was my whole plan, to move on from things and just look to the better days.”

In the end, Jameson only missed three games as the suspension was later shortened when the NFL revised its gambling policies.
