Highs in the 70s will continue today and tomorrow

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) – Get ready for another beautiful sunny day today and tomorrow with temperatures in the upper 70s. Don't get too comfortable, though, as a small cold front is expected to move in on Thursday and bring cooler temperatures.

HEADLINES:

  • The warm temperatures remain
  • Cold front moves in
  • It may rain this week

DISCUSSION:

The weather will continue to be pleasant this week, with temperatures in the upper 70s today and tomorrow. It will be mostly sunny and there will be no rain, making it a wonderful day. Tonight temperatures will drop into the low 50s with clear skies, and tomorrow evening will be similar, with lows in the upper 40s. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and the temperatures will drop for your Thursday.

LOOKING AHEAD:

We expect two cold fronts. The first front will drop temperatures slightly to the upper 60s on Thursday. However, it will be a weak front as temperatures will rise back into the upper 70s on Friday. The second cold front will arrive late Friday evening, bringing with it a chance for much-needed rain. Although the chance of rain is low, it will be a welcome relief for our northeastern counties which are suffering from drought. As the second front sweeps through Eastern Kentucky, temperatures will cool to the upper 60s, and these cooler temperatures will persist.

It will be a little cooler than today, but it will be around the normal high for this time of year!

Enjoy your Tuesday!
