Kristin Cavallari breaks her silence on the arrest of her ex-husband Jay Cutler.

The 37-year-old “Very Cavallari” star made the comments on a Tuesday episode of her podcast “Let's Be Honest” after Cutler was arrested on drunken driving and weapons charges in Tennessee on Thursday.

In a message at the beginning of the show, Cavallari noted that the episode was recorded before “a very public incident with my ex-husband occurred last week,” which she then briefly addressed.

“I obviously wish Jay all the best and hope he gets the help he needs,” she said. “But that’s the only thing I’ll say publicly about it.”

Cutler, a former NFL quarterback, was arrested in Tennessee after a “minor traffic accident.” Police said he smelled strongly of alcohol and had slurred speech, and two handguns were found in his car. He was charged with one count of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision, violation of the implied consent law and possession of a handgun while under the influence of alcohol.

Cavallari and Cutler married in 2013 and announced their separation in 2020. They have three children together. Cutler appeared on the E! to see his then wife. Reality series “Very Cavallari,” which ran from 2018 to 2020.

In June, Cavallari shared on an episode of her podcast that she became “very thin” while filming “Very Cavallari” due to the stress in her marriage.

Kristin Cavallari explains separation from 24-year-old boyfriend: “One day he will thank me”

“I’m going to put it in perspective for you,” she said at the time. “I am 1.75 meters tall”. I currently weigh 114 pounds. When I was filming “Very Cavallari,” I got down to 102 and ate the same amount of food that I eat now. The difference was that I was so unhappy and so stressed.

“I was skin and bones,” she added. “I think I look a lot better now. And guys, that was just stress. It was a really unhappy marriage, to be honest. I mean, literally. I was so unhappy.”

When she announced her split from Cutler in 2020, Cavallari described it as “just a situation of two people growing apart.”

“It is with great sadness that after ten years together we have come to the loving decision to divorce,” she said. “We have nothing but love and respect for each other and are deeply grateful for the years we have shared, the memories we have made and the children we are so proud of.”

Earlier this year, Cavallari made headlines when she revealed that she has a new 24-year-old boyfriend named Mark Estes, sparking criticism of their 13-year age gap. In September, the “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” star shared that she and Estes had separated. She later explained on her podcast that they split after she began to “feel” the age difference and differences in life experiences.

“I look back to when I was 24 and how much life has happened for me since then, and I mean, those are pivotal years,” she said. “These are formative years. That’s where you find yourself. And he has to be able to do that.”

During Tuesday's portion of the podcast, which was recorded before Cutler's arrest, Cavallari discussed the topic of breakups and reflected on how she was “heartbroken” when her marriage ended.

“Even though I was the one who left, it wasn’t what I wanted,” she said. “It wasn't what I imagined. And I really tried (expletive) everything I could. It's just heartbreaking when you want something so bad but you just can't achieve it. I would say my heart was broken for years.”

Cavallari also recalled that she had been “clenching her jaw” for so many months before the divorce and “as soon as I got out, it stopped.”

But she told listeners that she and Cutler are now in the “best place we've ever been,” adding, “It's been four and a half years, and it's taken four years, but things are going really well for us.” now. … If I tell you that Jay and I can get there, anyone can get there.
