Nicolo Barella is expected to be in Inter's midfield when the Nerazzurri visit Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday night, with regular starter Hakan Calhanoglu set to miss tonight's game through injury.

According to reports from several media outlets, including Sky and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barella is likely to be the most central midfielder in Inter's group of three.

Kristjan Asllani is also out, so Barella will almost certainly be joined by Henrikh Mkhitaryan and his Italian counterpart Davide Frattesi.

Frattesi is likely to be the most advanced of the three midfielders, while Mkhitaryan could play in his regular position.

It is likely to be a heavily rotating team as Inter also have an extremely important game against third-placed Juventus in Serie A.

With that in mind, Simone Inzaghi could also test the likes of Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco, while reports on Wednesday morning suggested that Marko Arnautovic and Mehdi Taremi will start at the top in place of Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez.
