Arne Slot's press conference: UCL win over Leipzig, Darwin Nunez's goal, club records and more

On the question of whether the end result could have been more pleasant…

Yes. I don't think we started the game really well in the first 10 or 15 minutes, but after that I really liked what I saw. Many, many, many times we played through their pressing, opened up their midfield and went on the attack. That led to the first goal, that led to a few chances – more than a few, and in the end it's a shame that you still need your two central defenders to play such a big game, and your goalkeeper, who makes two such important saves because a game like this should have been ours after 60 or 70 minutes, and it wasn't. That's why the last 20 were difficult for us.

Whether the style of Nunez's goal was particularly pleasing…

I'm always happy when we score a goal and I don't really care who scores it. It's always good to see all of our players scoring goals and I think Cody (Gakpo) and Mo (Salah) were just as important to the goal in the build-up to the goal as Darwin. What I liked about Darwin was that he was also strong and confident on the ball, often keeping the ball and fighting when he had to defend, so he made it a really difficult game for Leipzig's two central defenders. And when he scores, I think it's always nice to have a striker on the scoresheet.
