All PSN services have been affected since October 1, 2024 at 3:21 p.m. Currently, PlayStation users are facing a widespread outage. Services such as account management, online gaming, PlayStation Video and the PlayStation Store are down. This outage prevents players from logging in, creating PSN accounts, launching certain games, using network features, or making PlayStation Store purchases.

When the PlayStation servers are available again

Sony is aware of the issue and is currently working on a fix. According to a post on X, the Japanese tech giant is still not sure what the exact cause of the problem is. This could be a big problem as the PSN outage has been going on for more than four hours.

Sony's official network status page states: “You may have difficulty logging in to PlayStation Network or creating an account. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.” For now, all we can do is wait for PSN to be repaired and service restored. At least we know Sony is doing something.

Problem with the “Welcome Hub”.

In late September, the PlayStation 5 received an update that introduced the “Welcome Hub,” a new dashboard feature that includes advertising. This unwanted addition resulted in some players seeing advertisements when selecting a game. This is another example of how Sony has “disappointed” fans recently. Concord's failure, the PlayStation 5 Pro's high price, and lackluster State of Play are just the tip of the iceberg of problems Sony is currently facing.
