The air around me smells faintly of gunpowder and Mountain Dew, so it must be time for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to release. We are just a few hours away from the global release of Black Ops 6, the latest CoD from Treyarch, once again co-developed by Raven Software. Raven has taken over the campaign and Treyarch is everywhere in multiplayer and zombie modes.

Side note: If you're like me and wondering why there isn't a game called Black Ops 5, it's because Activision apparently decided to add a silent “5” to the 2020 title Black Ops – Cold War. What a world.

What is the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 release date?

Black Ops 6 officially releases on October 25th. However, the worldwide release times mean that it will actually be released on the night of October 24th (that's tonight) in many territories. Check out the official system requirements to make sure your device is ready for the ride – it's probably the case considering how reasonable Call of Duty specs have been in recent years. In most territories, Black Ops 6 will release at or after midnight on October 25th. It will be released in some areas of North America this evening, October 24th. Check out the full list of times below so you know for sure when it will unlock in your region:

Yes, and it has already begun. Preload opened on October 21st on all platforms (Steam, Game Pass, Xbox, PS5, PS4). Activision says Black Ops 6 is just over 100GB in total, so it's a smart idea to download it early. However, keep in mind that in some cases, unzipping the download after the game is released can also take a while (just probably not as long as downloading from scratch).
