Jack Antonoff confirms he worked on Lana Del Rey's new Lasso album

Lana Del Rey's 10th album is on the way — and now we know one of the collaborators working on it. In a new interview with TimeJack Antonoff confirmed that he is collaborating with Del Rey again for her upcoming LP lasso – but refused to provide further details about the project.

“We did…yes,” he said when asked if the two musicians were in the studio together for the album. “(It’s) a story for another time. The reason I don’t talk about things until they’re out is very succinct: I want music to be the first entry point for people.”

“I don’t want to take away from anyone’s experience of hearing it without context,” he added. “The moment you start talking about the work ahead, you plant those seeds in people’s minds.”

Antonoff has been working with Del Rey for some time, with the two musicians first getting together in 2019 Norman fucking Rockwellthen 2021 Chemtrails over the country club in 2021 and again last year for Did you know there is a tunnel under Ocean Boulevard?.

Del Rey first announced that she would be releasing a country project during Grammy week in January, revealing the name as lasso. (She said at the time that it would drop in September.)

“If you can’t tell from our honorees and artists, the music business is booming,” she told the crowd. “We're going to the country. It happens. That’s why Jack has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi for the last four years.”

In conversation with fashion Last month, Del Rey explained that the project wouldn't be a major “departure” from her previous music.

“All of my albums are rooted in Americana in some way, unless it's an album like this honeymoon It has a jazz vibe to it, so I don’t think it will be a big farewell,” she told the publication. “If anything, lyrically it will be a little lighter and more pointed in a classic country, American or Southern Gothic production – which, again, so many of my songs already are.”

The star's most recent single was the country-tinged “Tough” featuring Quavo over the summer. To fashionDel Rey said she will release two more tracks “by the end of the year.”

News of Antonoff's work on the project comes just days later People confirmed that Del Rey had tied the knot with Jeremy Dufrene, who runs airboat tours in Louisiana. (The couple has known each other since 2019, although they got back together earlier this year, according to the outlet.)
