Saints rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler was bailed out by officials in what could be the biggest disaster of the 2024 NFL season so far.

Continue in the second quarter Thursday Night Football Against the Denver Broncos, Rattler fumbled a snap and grabbed the football to prevent a turnover.

However, instead of throwing the ball out of bounds or simply falling to the ground, Ratter ran, dodged a sack, collided with one of his offensive linemen and was eventually hit by Broncos defensive lineman Jordan Jackson.

Rattler fumbled the ball again on the score, only to have it caught by Broncos linebacker Cody Barton for a defensive touchdown.

Luckily for Rattler and the Saints, Denver was thwarted during the game and all the chaos was gone. However, the lowlight is difficult to get out of your head.

Hopefully the rookie quarterback learns how to handle this situation next time.
