Alejandro Garnacho scored an excellent equalizer against Brentford.

The 20-year-old winger came to Manchester United's aid in their first Premier League game at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The home side fell behind just seconds before half-time after Ethan Pinnock scored a powerful header, while Matthijs De Ligt was off the pitch with a head injury requiring treatment.

Determined not to leave the stadium with a whimper, Erik Ten Hag's half-time team talk would have been very convincing as the Dutchman remains under huge pressure to keep his job.

And due to a good reaction, United managed to quickly equalize just two minutes after the break in the second half.

Argentina's Garnacho had space at the back post before his teammate Marcus Rashford played a superb ball across the field.

Although Rashford's lofted pass was spot on in execution, United's number 17 still had plenty of work to do to beat Mark Flekken.

Garnacho made an excellent connection with the cross and shot the ball straight into the Stretford End net – single-handedly bringing the Red Devils level.

Failure to stage a comeback and take all three points from Saturday's game at Old Trafford could see United slip to 13th in the table by the end of the weekend.
