“Anthony Edwards thinks he would probably cook Ja Morant 1v1”

Anthony Edwards has never been accused of lacking confidence and recently made another bold claim in a conversation with Chris Tucker for Interview Magazine. When Tucker Edwards asked if he would like to play 1-on-1 against Ja Morant, he made it clear that he would and believed that he could easily beat him too.

“Oh yeah, he’ll be back this year,” Edwards said. “A lot of people – I don't want to say they forgot about him – but he stayed under wraps for a few months because he wasn't playing. But as far as one-on-one goes, yes, I can do that.” probably cook him.

“That’s my dog,” Edwards added. “But one on one?”

That would be a fascinating encounter. I think it would also be a lot closer than Edwards thinks since Morant is such a special talent.

Edwards mentioned that people have somewhat forgotten how great Morant is as a player after only playing nine games last season, and that he himself may be underestimating him a little. The Memphis Grizzlies superstar averaged 25.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 8.1 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.6 blocks per game in the 2023-24 season, and there aren't many players who have a chance had to “cook” him 1-on-1. -1.

I don't think Edwards, who averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.5 blocks per game in 2023-24, could do that. Still, I would support the Minnesota Timberwolves star's win if they ever played 1-on-1.

What gives Edwards the advantage over Morant is that he is a much better defender. While neither player will be able to take down the other, I think Edwards is more likely to get the occasional stop that would ultimately give him the win.

In recent years, fans have been clamoring for 1-on-1 games during All-Star Weekend, and this would be a matchup that everyone would love to see if the NBA ever introduced it. Although I would bet on Edwards, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Morant got the upper hand over him.

Anthony Edwards is sending a warning to the rest of the NBA

Edwards is one of the actors featured in Netflix From 5and he sent a warning to the rest of the NBA with his final message.

“When you're in your prime, you're like 26. The shit I do, I do it at 22,” Edwards said. “Imagine when I'm 25 or 26, everything is perfect, everything is perfect… So let's have a good ride. Buckle up.”

Edwards will only get better as he is nowhere near his best right now and that is a scary thought for the rest of the NBA. The two-time All-Star just led the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals and I think he'll take it a step further at some point in the coming years.

As for individual awards, Kendrick Perkins believes Edwards will win the MVP title in 2024-25. The 23-year-old finished seventh in the voting last season and while I believe he will finish higher in the rankings next year, I don't think he will win the award. However, he could win it in a few years.
