Ariana Grande embodies Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and more

Ariana Grande brought her spot-on celebrity impressions Saturday Night Live.

The Evil Star returned as host to the long-running NBC sketch comedy show on October 12, where she repeated some of her hilarious pop star impressions during the opening monologue. Wearing a beautiful pink dress, the 31-year-old superstar opened the episode by making it clear that she was just the host and not serving as the evening's musical guest.

“I’m not going to say that about myself,” Grande told the Studio 8H audience. “I’m just going to have fun, take it easy and keep a low profile.”

Moments later, she was subtly handed a microphone and began singing, which included her favorite notes “C, D, B, A or G” and, of course, the opening line of Britney Spears' 1998 hit. …Baby, again.” She then delivered more impressive (and hilarious) impersonations of Miley Cyrus and Gwen Stefani.

Grande's song turned into a Broadway-style performance that she came across SNL Actor Bowen Yang, who was dressed as her Evil Character Glinda. “Bowen, didn’t anyone tell you? We cut that Evil sketch!” she said to a disappointed Yang.

The “We Can't Be Friends” singer reconfirmed that she would not be performing any of her music on the show. “I won’t be doing a duet tonight, so please don’t bring out Stevie Nicks,” she sang, referring to the evening’s musical guest. “Worth a try!”

Grande will star in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the Broadway musical Evilin which she will play Glinda opposite Cynthia Erivo's Elphaba. Yang will play the role of Pfannee in the film directed by Jon M. Chu. The film hits theaters on November 22nd.

This weekend's stint marked Grande's second stint as helmsman SNLafter her hosting debut in 2016. After the release of her album, which topped the Billboard 200 Eternal sunshine Earlier this year, the Grammy winner served as the musical guest on a March episode of the show hosted by Josh Brolin and took part in a few skits, including one Moulin Rouge Parody with Yang.

The next SNL The October 19 episode will be hosted by Michael Keaton with recurring musical guest Billie Eilish.
