Week 7 matchups

In Thursday night's game, Nix and Rattler will face each other tough. New Orleans allows 13 points per game while Denver only gives up 12.

In the battle between Packers and Texans, Love has a more favorable matchup than Stroud. Green Bay allows just 14 points per game while Houston gives up 18.

When it comes to the matchup between the Lions and the Vikings, it's a slightly below average matchup for Goff and Darnold. Detroit allows 15 points per game while Minnesota is at 14.

In the game between Seattle and Atlanta, both Smith and Cousins have at least average duels. The Seahawks allow 17 points per game while the Falcons give up 19.

In the showdown between Chiefs and Niners, it's a pretty even and average matchup between Mahomes and Purdy. Kansas City allows 16 points while San Francisco gives up 15.

In the Chargers-Cardinals duel, it's a tough matchup for Murray and a favorable matchup for Herbert. LA only allows 13 fantasy points per week while Arizona gives up 19.

Mayfield is having a favorable game against the Ravens, with Baltimore allowing 20 points per game to opposing QBs. Hurts' game against the Giants is a pretty average matchup as New York gives up 17 points per week.

Rodgers has a very tough test against the Steelers, who are only allowing 12 points per game. Allen's matchup with the Titans is below average but more favorable as Tennessee allows 15 points per week.

Forecasts and starting recommendations

In the weekly predictions, Allen is leading the way with 23 predicted points. Stroud is predicted to score 21 points while Hurts is at 20.

Purdy is projected at 19 points, Murray at 18. Love, Mayfield, Goff, Cousins and Smith are all at 17 points. Mahomes and Herbert each have 16 points, Rodgers and Darnold have 14 each, Nix is expected to have 13 and Rattler has just 11.

Normally I tend to side with the top draft picks for the best weekly options, but the last three weeks have been , Cousins, and the Trailblazers, so I'm shifting my rankings up this week.

Give me love for the top spot on this big starting QB decision. He's been great this season and has a pretty favorable match coming up.

I would take Mayfield next. He was one of the best fantasy quarterbacks and has a favorable matchup on paper, so why not team with him again?

Then I would take Allen. He's definitely capable of having big fantasy games against strong defenses (he did it in Week 6), and I think he does enough to overcome the difficult matchup and score another big fantasy score achieve.

I would take Hurts here. He has his top pass catchers back and I think Hurts can continue to put up strong fantasy numbers this week.

I'm going to surprise you again and take Smith with me. He was actually one of the top 10 fantasy QBs this week, and the matchup is just right for him to have another big game.

I would follow him with the other QB in this game, Cousins. I like the matchup and he's been looking better lately.

I would finally bring Stroud here. I feel like he could break out for a huge fantasy day or even lay an egg against a sneakily good Packers pass defense, so putting Stroud in the middle of my rankings feels right.

I'll take Mahomes next. I can't believe I have so many QBs above him, but he's struggled a bit this season and the matchup scares me a little.

I would then join Goff. The matchup is tough, but the Lions offense has enough playmakers to help Goff still be an average or better fantasy player.

I would take Purdy here. He's been inconsistent and the matchup scares me again, so it feels right to use him here.

I'll play matchups and try Herbert here. He hasn't been impressive in the new-look Chargers' offense this season, but the matchup is just the right fit for him to put in a good performance.

Then I would take Darnold. I think his last game was a sign of things to come, so I'm trying to avoid using him this week. I prefer to stay away from quarterbacks here.

Murray is next for me. He's been disappointing as a fantasy performer this season and his matchup is tough, so I'll use Murray when I can.

Give me Rodgers here. I know he's done it now, but the Steelers' defense is no joke and I think Rodgers will struggle to reach his 14-point projection.

That leaves Nix and Rattler for the final two spots, and I would have them in that order. You can read more about my argument here.
