Bears control jaguars in London

The Jaguars lost to rookie Caleb Williams and the Bears at halftime in London.

Williams threw a 31-yard touchdown pass in failed coverage to give Chicago a 14-3 lead at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Jacksonville is trying to build on its first win of the season last week against the Colts.

Trevor Lawrence had a touchdown throw on third down that was dropped by Gabe Davis in the end zone. They settled for a 30-yard field goal from Cam Little to get on the scoreboard. It was a waste of a beautiful drive, a 14-play, 67-yard march that took more than 10 minutes.

Jacksonville rallied early on defense. It held Chicago to 7 yards rushing in the first quarter, which was the ninth-fewest first quarter total in franchise history. The defense was damaged on a few plays in the first half, a 31-yard throw from Williams to tight end Cole Kmet that turned into a touchdown and a 7-3 lead. But it bounced back afterward and had its first interception of the season, a pick by Andre Cisco at the 7 that almost certainly denied Chicago points. It was the Jaguars' first interception of the season.

Williams rebounded on Chicago's final drive of the half, including two runs that ate up 43 yards and put the Bears within scoring range. He threw a 2-yard touchdown to Kmet 17 seconds before halftime for a 14-3 lead.
