Billie Eilish gently teases Converse's “Hit Me Hard and Soft” sneaker collaboration in Instagram photo preview

Billie Eilish announces an upcoming shoe collaboration with Converse. The superstar posted a photo of herself on social media on Oct. 15 holding a shoe that says “And Soft” on the bottom, a reference to her latest album, “Hit Me Hard and Soft.”

Eilish posted the photo to her Instagram Story with the side-eye emoji, hinting that fans should expect an imminent release. She appeared to be holding a Converse sneaker that featured the brand's signature midsole with a thin black line and a recognizable geometric pattern outsole. “And Soft” was written in all caps on the outsole, hinting that the collaboration would pay homage to their third studio album, released in May 2024; The record includes tracks like “Birds of a Feather” and “Wildflower.”

Converse then confirmed on Wednesday that Eilish's designs of the Chuck Taylor All Star ($100) and Chuck Taylor All Star Lift Platform ($110) models will be offered on the customizable Converse By You platform starting October 17 at 10 a.m. ET. Fans can customize Eilish's Converse designs to their liking with text, colors and graphics from “Hit Me Hard and Soft.”

Eilish has proven herself to be a Converse fan in the past, donning a pair of black Chuck Taylor All Star high-top sneakers for her appearance at the climate activism event Overheated last year. She paired the shoes with black crew socks from Nike, another brand she has collaborated with and reaches for often. In the music video for “Birds of a Feather,” she wore an extremely rare pair of black Nike shoes with red checkered accents and slipped into chunky Nike Air sneakers while performing at the Los Angeles Olympics.

As for her forays into the footwear industry, she has collaborated with Nike to release a range of shoes including reinterpretations of the classic Air Force 1 style and the Air Alpha Force.
