Brewers hurler ready to move from rotation to bullpen despite impressive campaign

The Milwaukee Brewers have been forced to get creative around the diamond this season, and they may do the same in October.

The Brewers consistently had one of the best bullpens in Major League Baseball throughout the 2024 season, but the same cannot be said about their rotation. A key starter is expected to contribute to Milwaukee's run at a World Series title, but he is willing to shift to the backup role if necessary.

“It doesn't matter whenever they give me the ball, I'm just going to do my best to get the outs that I need to get out,” (Tobias) Myers told reporters in a brief series about his approach to pitching -Team fits. “I don’t really focus on it at all. I'm just trying to keep the day-to-day work going and whenever they tell me to take the ball, I take it. Whether it's starting, in the bullpen, whatever it may be, I'll be ready for it.

Myers has a 3.09 ERA with a 122-36 strikeout-to-walk ratio, a .247 batting average against and a 1.20 WHIP in 134 innings in 26 games this season.

Milwaukee hasn't announced a move yet, but it's worth watching to see how the 26-year-old is treated in the postseason.

The Brewers rotation seemingly needs more help than their backups, but changes could be arranged if Milwaukee lands in the Wild Card Series next week.
