Brian Thomas Jr. would fill the Patriots' WR room

The New England Patriots face the Jacksonville Jaguars across the pond in London on Sunday.

The Jaguars have struggled this season, but there have been a few bright spots on their roster. One of those bright spots was rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

He's my pick for Gimme Him this week.

The LSU product has drawn attention as the Jaguars' leading wideout with 25 receptions for 474 yards and three touchdowns through the first six games. His total receiving yards ranks him ninth-best in the NFL.

One of his best games of the season came on October 6 against the Indianapolis Colts. He caught eight passes for 122 yards and one touchdown.

He is quickly becoming one of the Jaguars' most dynamic receiving options. The first-round draft pick out of LSU uses his combination of big-play ability and speed to keep order after the catch. In each of the games he has played this year, he has averaged over nine yards per catch.

The Patriots' wide receiver group is taking shape every week. Coach Jerod Mayo noted that Kendrick Bourne, DeMario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte are currently three of the most reliable receivers on the roster. The addition of Thomas would give quarterback Drake Maye another weapon on offense.

One of the best things the organization can do is surround the rookie quarterback with playmakers. Thomas certainly fits that category, even as a rookie. In addition to his pure playmaking ability, he would also add depth to the organization at the wide receiver position. They currently do not have any productive depth. Thomas could fill a gap there.

Currently, the Patriots secondary will be tasked with guarding him on Sunday when they take on the Jaguars.
