Caitlin Clark was robbed of another unanimous WNBA award

Caitlin Clark was robbed of another unanimous WNBA award

Caitlin Clark received another WNBA award on Wednesday, once again falling one vote shy of a unanimous award.

The Fever superstar was named All-WNBA first team on Wednesday, but the honor didn't come without a bit of a headache considering how she made the list.

Clark, 22, received 52 of a possible 67 first-team votes, while 14 people used their vote to name Clark to second-team All-WNBA.

That meant one voter completely snubbed Clark, making it the second time she failed to get a clean sweep of a league title because a single voter excluded her from the ballot.

Earlier this month, Clark was named WNBA rookie of the year, receiving 66 of a possible 67 first-place votes, with the other going to Sky star Angel Reese.

There was a mystery as to who voted for Reese, and that mystery was made mysterious again by the fact that she was once again rejected by a voter.

The WNBA Rookie of the Year vote is not published, so no one knows who the only voter was.

It's unlikely fans will learn who left Clark out of their All-WNBA selection.

“I am incredibly honored to be named Rookie of the Year, but more than that, I am grateful to everyone who supported me this past season – my family and friends, my teammates, the Fever organization and everyone who supported us cheered us on all season.” . “I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished and so excited about the future,” Clark said in a statement upon being named Rookie of the Year.

Clark started every game for the Fever that year and averaged 19.2 points per game along with 8.4 assists and 122 3-pointers, breaking a number of league and franchise records in the process.
