Caleb Williams throws four touchdown passes as the Bears get past the Jaguars in London

The Chicago Bears began Week 6 Sunday action with a 4-2 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, 35-16, in London, England.

2024 first overall draft pick Caleb Williams had arguably the best game of his young career, completing 23 of his 29 pass attempts and throwing for 226 yards and four touchdowns.

He also accumulated 56 yards on the ground. An interception in the second quarter was the only blemish on the quarterback's outstanding performance.

Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence – the No. 1 pick in 2021 – went 23 for 35 through the air for 234 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while rushing for 17 yards.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was a chessboard of NFL jerseys, with fans wearing different teams' colors, as has become typical of games in Europe.

The match was officially listed as the Bears' home game and certainly had the feel of one. The crowd was positive for Chicago for most of the game, and the Jacksonville players even performed and were booed by some fans.

The Bears couldn't offer much to the crowd to spark the game's first possession by making a three-pointer and a punt to the Jaguars. After a long drive that lasted more than eight minutes, Jacksonville failed to reach the end zone and scored first with a 30-yard field goal by Cam Little.

Williams and the Chicago offense struggled mightily early in the game, mustering just seven yards of offense in the first quarter. It took until the second quarter for the offense to finally get going – and in style.

A few pump fakes and a 360-degree spin from Williams froze the Jags' defense and he found tight end Cole Kmet over the middle, who broke two tackles for the touchdown.

Things immediately seemed to get worse for Jacksonville when it was determined that Travis Etienne had fumbled the ball, but the referees overturned the decision after review.

The Jaguars got the break they needed when a bad, crazy pass from Williams was intercepted by Andre Cisco, but couldn't score on the loss and were forced to punt.

On the ensuing drive, Williams played with his legs, breaking out of the pocket twice to pick up yards on the ground and setting up the Bears at the Jags' five-yard line before connecting with Kmet again for the touchdown.

Facing a 14-3 deficit early in the second half and the same offensive woes that had plagued the team all season, Jacksonville needed something to get going. Unfortunately for Lawrence and company, the quarter couldn't have started much worse.

Jags tight end Evan Engram fumbled the ball on the team's first play of the half, while Bears safety Elijah Hicks recovered the ball and brought it over midfield.

Chicago scored again on the resulting drive when Williams hit wide receiver Keenan Allen in the end zone for his third touchdown pass of the day, sparking a “tea party” celebration on offense.

A little more than halfway through the quarter, the Jaguars finally scored their first touchdown of the day – Lawrence connecting with Gabe Davis on a 21-yard strike as his team looked for a way back into the game.

However, the defense failed to contain the onslaught of a Bears rolling unit. A series of defensive penalties helped Chicago move the chains, and the drive culminated in another Williams TD pass to Allen early in the fourth quarter.

Then things got even worse for Jacksonville when Lawrence was substituted by Josh Blackwell on his team's first possession of the final third.

Some trickery from Williams and an explosive run from receiver DJ Moore brought Chicago right to the goal line, and running back D'Andre Swift burst through and continued the scoring spree.

The Jags scored again with another touchdown pass from Lawrence to Davis, but were unable to get further into the Bears' lead.

Chicago starts its bye week with a satisfying win, while Jacksonville falls to 1-5 after the loss. The team will remain in the English capital as they take on the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium on Sunday of week seven.
