Carlos Rodon fails against the Royals in the Yankees disaster

Carlos Rodon's postseason career with the Yankees appeared to be off to a great start — until the left-hander collapsed in the fourth inning of Game 2 of the ALDS against the Royals in the Bronx.

In a scene all too familiar to Yankee fans, Rodon saw his stuff quickly disappear, this time in a critical situation when he allowed four runs early in the fourth after the Yankees were tied by 1 in the bottom of the third :0 had taken the lead.

Rodon looked dominant in the first two innings, striking out four of the first seven batters he faced and striking out six before getting about two hits in the third.

But Salvador Perez led off the fourth with a big home run to left and a hanging 2-0 slider to make the score 1-1, and things only got worse from there.

Yuli Gurriel followed with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch.

Tommy Pham gave Kansas City the lead with a single to right-center after another bad slider, and after Rodon was on the verge of ending the inning without further damage with a strikeout by Hunter Renfroe, Rodon was eliminated again by a single to right Garrett Hampson burned a slider to make it 3-1 and end his night.

Ian Hamilton came in and gave Garcia an RBI single in the fourth and final run of the inning.
