Coastal Carolina Chanticleers vs. James Madison Dukes Prediction, Odds and Tips

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers headed to Bridgeforth Stadium to take on the James Madison Dukes in an all-important Sun Belt Conference battle. Coastal Carolina is coming off a 45-37 win over Old Dominion in its conference opener, with CCU posting 148 rushing yards and 367 passing yards, and the Chanticleers were also plus-2 in turnover percentage. QB Ethan Vasko threw for 367 yards and three touchdowns as he stepped in and took over right where QB Grayson McCall, now at NC State, left off. CCU has scored high in four of five games, with the offense scoring at least 24 points in each game and 40 or more points on three occasions. Additionally, Coastal has allowed 40.0 PPG in the last two games and 20 or more points in all five games.

James Madison will probably be pretty upset after suffering a 21-19 setback as a 17-point favorite at Louisiana-Monroe. No one expected this, even though we've seen the Dukes play with fire before as heavy favorites. JMU won an ugly 13-6 game against FCS's Gardner-Webb in Week 2 as a 36.5-point favorite. However, we have seen JMU score 63 or more points in two of the last three games and we expect a shootout at Bridgeforth on Thursday night. Look for QB Alonza Barnett to bounce back.
