Coldplay will perform at Stanford Stadium on May 31, 2025 – Stanford Cardinal

STANFORD, Calif. – Following their highly anticipated 10th studio album Moon musicLast Friday, British rock band Coldplay continued to push boundaries on their record-breaking “Music Of The Spheres World Tour” with the addition of 10 North American shows scheduled to perform in cities throughout May, June and July 2025, including a concert at Stanford Stadium on March 31 .May. “Bringing this band to campus now and inviting our community to be part of this epic gathering around music is a milestone for the university,” said Deborah Cullinan, vice president for the arts at Stanford. “The merger of Stanford Live and Stanford Athletics, two organizations with extensive knowledge and expertise in major events, is a partnership whose day has come because both organizations are committed to providing outstanding entertainment to our community. ”

Showcasing the performing arts and creating engagement opportunities for students and the surrounding community are central parts of Stanford's mission. Additionally, the inclusion of artists who are leaders in sustainable practices in the entertainment industry is consistent with Stanford's ongoing commitment to sustainability as a core value.

In addition to the co-hosts, Stanford Arts and the Stanford Office of Community Engagement enthusiastically support the stadium concert.

Coldplay's new album, Moon musicsets new standards in terms of sustainability, as each LP is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles (nine per record). It is now available on EcoCD, EcoRecord LP and digital. Current single WE PRAY – featuring Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna and TINI – is the iTunes chart-topping follow-up to the double MTV VMA-nominated single released in June feels like I'm falling in lovewhich reached number 1 in both the UK Airplay Charts and the Official Big Top 40. Chris Martin released a video offering some insight into the album and its accompanying notebook edition, saying: “I think what this album is about is a reaction to all the conflicts within myself, within myself and also struggle with all external conflicts and find out what the best answer is. And I think something Moon music trying to say that maybe love is the best answer.”

The band recently released an update on their sustainability initiatives, revealing that the current tour has so far produced 59% less show-by-show carbon emissions than their previous stadium tour in 2016/17, exceeding their original goal of a 50% reduction . TICKET INFORMATION

Fans can register for the artist presale here now through Thursday, October 10 at 10 a.m. ET for first access to tickets. Artist pre-sales begin Friday, October 11th at 9 a.m. local time. General pre-sales begin Friday, October 11 at 12 p.m. local time on Ticketmaster.com.

Coldplay have also confirmed that they will be making a limited number of Infinity tickets available for the show on Friday, November 22nd at 12pm local time. Infinity tickets are released for every Coldplay show to make the Music Of The Spheres World Tour accessible to fans at an affordable price. They cost the equivalent of $20 per ticket in local currency. They are limited to a maximum of two tickets per buyer and must be purchased in pairs (that are next to each other). Locations will be announced when fans pick up their tickets in person at the box office on the day of the show. You can sit throughout the venue, from the floor to the upper floors, from the side view seats and everywhere in between.

ABOUT STANFORD STADIUM

Stanford Stadium is a versatile venue that has hosted numerous events. With a seating capacity of 50,424, it is home to the Stanford Cardinal football program and a variety of campus events, including the site of the university's annual spring commencement ceremony in June. Its rich history includes the moment in 1928 when Herbert Hoover, a former Stanford football student manager, gave his acceptance speech as the Republican presidential candidate. In 1962, amid Cold War tensions, track coach Payton Jordan brought the USA-USSR doubleheader to the stadium.
