College football game updates, live scores, week 7

BATON ROUGE, La. – Ole Miss football's momentum will be tested in one of college football's most challenging environments.

The No. 9 Rebels defeated Wake Forest and South Carolina, their two road opponents, decisively this season. Today's road game against No. 13 LSU (6:30 p.m. ESPN) will be the Rebels' toughest test yet.

Injuries could limit Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin and quarterback Jaxson Dart's offense. Receiver Tre Harris, who leads the nation with 885 receiving yards, was questionable because of a lower-body injury. He was named a probable player later in the week and is playing.

Ole Miss vs. LSU scores updates

The Tigers failed to capitalize on a strip-sack fumble by Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. LSU kicker Damian Ramos missed from 46 yards to the right. The Rebels take over at their 28-yard line.

LSU didn't gain a yard on its scoring drive, but the fortuitous fumble recovery was enough to set up Damian Ramos for a long field goal.

After LSU landed, the rebels seized power deep in their own territory. Running back Henry Parrish had the ball free after catching a short pass from Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. LSU recovers at the Ole Miss 28-yard line. It's a huge chance to tie the game by halftime.

Nussmeier threw a ball that was supposed to go 50/50 down the left sideline. Trey Amos' perfectly timed jump gave him the advantage. The Rebels take over at their own 39 yard line.

A highlight was the end of Ole Miss' 11-play, 75-yard scoring drive. Star receiver Tre Harris, who dropped a deep pass early in the first quarter, came up big with a contested touchdown catch on third down. The drive was ineffective most of the way through the end of the first half and is a big response after LSU's first scoring breakthrough.

LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier put together a nice performance to counter Ole Miss' good start. The Tigers completed a six-play, 75-yard drive.

Ulysses Bentley is back. The surprising third-string running back is on the rise tonight. He scored his first touchdown of the season on a 4th-and-1 run. Bentley has three runs for 60 yards, including a couple of big first-down conversions. It was his first touchdown of the season.

Ole Miss kicker Caden Davis responded after his short miss in the first quarter. On the first play of the second quarter, Davis came on the field after a TV timeout and drilled a 49-yarder.

Coach Lane Kiffin returned for another straight snap. The gamble didn't pay off as running back Henry Parrish was stopped for no gain.

Ole Miss defensive lineman Jamarious Brown caught incredibly well but got some help. After LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier's pass tipped into the air at the LSU 12-yard line, Ole Miss linebacker Chris Paul again deflected it into Brown's arms. Paul was connected to an LSU defender but sent the ball flying in a random direction as if playing keep-it-up.

The Rebels' second drive ends with a whimper. A Jaxson dart scramble was called back with a holding penalty. The Rebels had to settle for a 32-yard field goal attempt. Caden Davis missed the ball wide right.

Ole Miss' second offensive play could come back to haunt the Rebels. When the ball landed at the Ole Miss 19-yard line, quarterback Jaxson Dart threw it to star receiver Tre Harris on a deep route. Harris had to adjust slightly, but the pass was good. Harris threw the ball at the LSU 40 and dropped it, negating a potential touchdown. The Rebels stumbled two plays later

The Rebels defense makes the first statement of the game. Ole Miss forced two incompletions on tight throws down the sideline.

Pegues and Umanmielen, both big parts of Ole Miss' defensive front, are listed as game-time decisions for the game against LSU. Both players are in full uniform and getting ready before the game.
