“Concert for Carolina” tickets are sold to support Helene victims: What you should know

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Tickets to the Hurricane Helene fundraiserConcert for Carolina” will go on sale Thursday morning both online and at the box office.

“Concert for Carolina” is the show organized by North Carolina native Luke Combs that he will headline alongside fellow North Carolina native Eric Church on Saturday, October 26th at Bank of America Stadium.

In addition to Combs and Church, Billy Strings and James Taylor were also part of the original cast. It was announced on Wednesday that Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban and Bailey Zimmerman would also appear.

All proceeds from the concert for Carolina will go to supporting Helene's relief efforts. The money will be split half between Combs and Church's chosen charities.

Church's share will go to his Chief Cares Foundation, while Comb's will be distributed to Samaritan's Purse, Manna Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina.

As Combs approached him, Carolina Panthers Owner David Tepper offered the stadium as a concert venue. The Teppers had already pledged $3 million for relief efforts immediately after Helene's strike.

“No matter where we are and what we do, we always try to help,” Tepper said. “This one is big. People didn't expect it. They don't expect to have floods like this out there, the problems we have out there. That’s why everyone has to get involved now and make their contribution.”

As for Combs and Church, their roots in Western North Carolina made them feel a strong need to give back.

The singers' roots in western North Carolina led them to feel a strong need to give back.

“To see places you went to as a child or places you went to your friends' weddings almost no longer exist in some way while you're still there is truly unimaginable to me.” said Combs of the devastation.

“This isn’t a one-month thing; “It’s a years-long task to rebuild the infrastructure and community there,” Church said. “Right now we have everyone’s attention, but in a few months it will still be very important to think about rebuilding what we believe was Western North Carolina.”

Tickets for the “Concert for Carolina” can be purchased starting Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Bank of America Stadium box office. Online ticket sales begin at the same time and are available for purchase Here. Fans purchasing online should wait in the Ticketmaster queue at least 10 minutes before tickets go on sale.
