Convicted transsexual gets sex reassignment surgery paid for by taxpayers after he murders a married couple to fund the procedure

A Transgender convicted murderer named John Jacobson Jr. managed to undergo Taxpayer-funded gender reassignment surgery. Skylar Deleon, as he now calls himself, was convicted in 2008 of the brutal murder of a couple in prison Attempting to steal money for such an operation.

The murders

On November 15, 2004 Thomas and Jackie Hawks boarded their yacht with Jacobson. who had expressed interest in purchasing the boat. According to reports from The Washington Free Beacon, they set sail from a dock off the California coast. The murderer attacked the couple and threatened them with a weapon. He tied her to the boat's anchor and forced her to sign documents about her bank accounts and ownership of the boat. After obtaining the documents, Jacobson and his accomplices threw the couple overboard while they remained on board, fishing and drinking beer before returning to port.

The Hawks' murder was deserved Jacobson nicknamed “Yacht Killer”. The man was convicted of these murders in 2008. However, it turned out that he had previously committed a murder against his former cellmate. In return he was able to receive $50,000.

In a letter to Free Beacon dated January 17, Jacobson wrote:

“I underwent gender-affirming surgery and breast augmentation on April 5, 2023. I began the transition when I first arrived at San Quentin. Shortly after the examination, I started hormone treatment in 2009. Next, I changed my name back to Skylar Deleon and changed myself.” My middle name is Sophia. My transition was definitely tough, but I made it through.

He is waiting to be transferred to a women's facility

Jacobson told the Free Beacon he is waiting to be forwarded to you Women's prison: “I was supposed to be transferred relatively quickly, but the prison is forcing us to go before a committee to decide which prison to go to or not, even though I have had both surgeries. At this time, I am being hospitalized for my safety. “My counselor and (doctors) refuse to release me anywhere other than the Central California Women's Center.”

This dangerous move to allow male convicts to serve their sentences in women's prisons was advocated by Vice President Kamala Harris. In 2020, during her presidential run, Harris celebrated her work to change policies in California that allow transgender inmates to change prisons based on their new gender. Harris said that as California's attorney general, she worked to ensure that the state's Department of Corrections had jurisdiction on the way to providing surgical care to prisoners:

“I worked behind the scenes to not only make sure that this transgender woman received the services that she deserved — so it wasn't just about this case,” she said. “I made sure they changed the policies in the state of California so that every transgender inmate in the prison system had access to the health care they wanted and needed,” Harris said.
