Davante Adams moving to the 49ers? GM John Lynch doesn't rule out the possibility – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

While Davante Adams' move to the 49ers seems unlikely, San Francisco general manager John Lynch isn't ruling out the possibility.

“We like our group. Davante is a great player,” Lynch said Friday morning on KNBR’s “Murph & Markus.” “One thing we've shown is that we're always looking and we're never afraid to look and see what's out there in a pretty good place.

“We have suffered some injuries but we will never say never. And it has to work. It has to work for both sides, but it has to work for us. I won't comment on a specific player, but at the moment on us, for example where our squad is.

Adams wants to leave Las Vegas after two seasons with the Silver and Black, and the Raiders have informed teams around the league that they are open to trading Adams, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday.

The All-Pro receiver prefers a reunion with one of his former NFL quarterbacks – Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets or Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints – Schefter reported.

But Adams is also open to other travel destinations. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys and 49ers are all among the teams that have either inquired about the six-time Pro Bowler or where Adams would like to land, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday, citing sources with knowledge of it Adam's thoughts were informed.

The NFL world has learned that Lynch and Co. like to play chess while others play checkers, and his latest comments prove once again that nothing is ever off the table in Santa Clara.
