David Fry reacts to the walk-off home run in the Guardians' ALCS Game 3 win over the Yankees

David Fry continues to be the clutch hitter the Cleveland Guardians have been looking for in big moments. Fry hit the go-ahead home run in Game 4 of the ALDS and exactly a week later he won Game 3 of the ALCS against the New York Yankees thanks to a dramatic walk-off home run.

Fry was pretty open about what he experienced when he stepped to the plate in the bottom of the tenth inning. Clay Holmes is a proven big league closer; He's been in situations like this before, but so has Fry.

“Yeah, obviously Clay is a really hard hitter, especially for a right-handed hitter with that sinker-slider combination. I guess it was my second strike attack against Weaver, which wasn't good at all. And I just thought, I just…” Tell God, hey, man, this is a tough fight, just try to have fun, you got behind in the count and you just got a throw into the zone and luckily it went “It’s out,” Fry said after the game.

Fry let his raw emotions do the talking after hitting the home run. After the game, he admitted that he couldn't remember exactly what happened after he touched the ball.

“At that point I lost consciousness. No idea. “I remember halfway down the first base line looking back at the dugout and saying, 'Okay, I just have to make sure I touch all four bases and come home and celebrate,” Fry continued.

“The game in Detroit that I didn’t know was canceled. And at that point I think I was the deciding player in that game, so I kind of booked it to make sure I got to second base. And then there was still game left.” That
one. So it's like we're going back into the dugout. Here we go, we need to wrap this up. Apparently things were over after that and it's still unclear.

Thursday will long be remembered in Cleveland sports history. But the work isn't done yet. The Guardians need to come out with momentum in Game 4 on Friday night to tie the series at two games apiece.
