Democratic Lawmaker Dismisses Venezuelan Migrant Gang Problem: 'It's the MAGA Gang'

Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, insisted Saturday that the “MAGA gang,” not illegal immigrants, were behind the crime and unrest in communities.

Crockett accused former President Trump of spreading lies about migrant crime and claimed his refusal to denounce white supremacists was the real problem.

“He said we have these cities and towns that are overrun by gangs and out-of-control crime. I absolutely agree with that. And guess what? It's the MAGA gang. It's the white supremacists who decided to come after them. “Places like Springfield, Ohio, so I agree with him, I just don't agree with who the problems are,” Crockett said on the show “Velshi.”

She continued: “The problems are him and his minions. The problems are not the people who came to strengthen our economy, but the people who were actually able to help continue to ensure that we get out of the big hole that he has given us after Covid-19 with his Incompetence has drawn in. Yes, I agree there are problems in our communities, but usually it's a white supremacist on the other side and he hasn't brought them up yet.

Crockett also accused Trump of harming states damaged by recent hurricanes by refusing to tell the truth.

“When it comes to him being a liar, that's exactly what it is. The problem is that we have people who absolutely listen to him, and that's the scary thing about it, even the people who are in need in North Carolina, Georgia or Tennessee or whatever state, Florida, they “Literally harming himself because he is unable to tell the truth about what it will take to get help and he believes it will help him in the campaign,” Crockett said.

“At the end of the day, you can’t say you’re a leader if you’re hell-bent on harming people, and he is,” she concluded.

At a rally in Colorado on Friday, Trump announced the “Operation Aurora” program, a proposal to remove dangerous illegal immigrants from the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. The program is expected to invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to target and dismantle “any illegal criminal migrant network operating on American soil.”

“My message today is very simple,” Trump said Friday. “No one who inflicted the violence and terror that Kamala Harris inflicted on this community should ever become president of the United States.”
