Political analyst Mark Halperin said this week that both Democrats and Republicans believe former President Trump's chances of winning the election are high after recently seeing private polling data.

In a livestream on his media platform 2WAY, Halperin said people on both sides of the political spectrum who are familiar with the polls have told him they have seen Vice President Harris' election prospects worsening and that they are moving toward a Trump Victory was on the cards.

“In the conversations I have with Trump people and Democrats with data, they are extremely optimistic about Trump's chances in the last 48 hours. Extremely optimistic,” Halperin said.

The expert called the Harris campaign an “experiment” that is running into problems.

“Can you win a short campaign with an untested candidate? And what I'm telling you is that she now has a problem in private polls,” he said.

He pointed to a recent New York Times poll that showed Harris leading Trump by three points nationally. However, he pointed out that this lead was just at the threshold of the poll's margin of error and that her team preferred to be at +4 to be sure of winning.

Halperin then mentioned a Wall Street Journal report about internal polling in Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis.'s re-election campaign, showing Harris trailing by three points in Wisconsin.

“Without Wisconsin, there’s no way,” he said, bringing up the numbers from Baldwin’s camp. He added: “We all said yesterday that things are looking worse for Harris in Wisconsin and Michigan than before.”

He then spoke with his fellow experts, including former Trump White House press secretary Sean Spicer and Democratic political strategist Dan Turrentine, about how Baldwin's release of these numbers was a “red flag” for the rest of the party.

“And if you do it to sound the alarm bell, you’re ringing the alarm bell in the party,” Turrentine added.

Later in the stream, Halperin chided his pro-Harris viewers, saying, “For you Harris people here who complain about us talking about problems in the Harris campaign, feel free to bury your heads in the sand. “If you want to watch MSNBC in prime time and hear how great the Harris campaign is doing, you’re welcome.”

“But if you want to understand what is actually happening, we are here to tell you. I just saw a new private poll today, it’s a very robust private poll, it’s in big trouble.”

Halperin added that he believes Harris is in “danger” of losing every swing state except Nevada.

“I'm not saying she's going to lose all six, but she's in danger,” he said.
