Dodgers left: Teoscar Hernández, Chris Taylor, Walker Buehler

If there's one player this season that the Dodgers envy and thrive in the best of situations, it's Teoscar Hernández.

From his three-run home run against the Colorado Rockies in June to his two-run single in the fourth inning of Game 1 of the NLDS, Hernández was the starter for the Dodgers when they needed him to produce the most. That trend continued on Tuesday, as Hernández launched a massive grand slam to center field to cut the Dodgers' deficit to just one run (unfortunately, to no avail).

Hernández spoke with FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal about his Grand Slam and pointed to his team's resistance to getting back into the game.

This current NLDS between the Dodgers and San Diego Padres has brought heightened emotions on and off the field. Most notably, in Game 2, fans began throwing baseballs and beer cans onto the field directly at the San Diego outfielders and into the Padres' bullpen. There was also an incident in Game 2 in which Dave Roberts took exception to Manny Machado throwing a ball toward the Dodgers' dugout.

Chris Taylor, now in their third series against San Diego, spoke about the energy with which the Padres played in the first three games and suggested that they need to keep their energy up, according to Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times.

“Every time we play these guys, they have high intensity and high energy,” Taylor said of the San Diego Padres, telling a reporter the message of his speech a day later. That's why he implored the club: “We have to keep up.”

Walker Buehler suffered Tuesday's Game 3 loss to San Diego while earlier that day he was the victim of a robbery at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. The Associated Press' Jaimie Ding has more details on the incident.
