Donald Trump Jr. criticized the media for creating narratives that “radicalize” voters who are “trying to kill my father” during a tense exchange with CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins.

Trump Jr. spoke in the spin room after the vice presidential debate between Sen. JD Vance and Gov. Tim Walz in New York City on Tuesday.

As Collins noted, the debate had a civil tone, with both potential vice presidents agreeing at times.

The conversation turned sour when the CNN anchor asked the former president's son, “Should we see more of this on the debate stage with your dad up there?”

But here's where the conversation between the two turned sour when the CNN anchor asked the former president's son, “Should we see more of this on the debate stage with your dad up there?”

Trump Jr. responded, “You know, I'd like to see that across the board.” Sometimes the political climate isn't so good, we've all heard about Trump's craziness, we've seen the lies they've lied about my family, you know , I was an agent of Russia.

“But Hunter Biden's laptop was pure Russian disinformation, and it turns out the opposite was true.” You know the media did this, they created so much of this environment.

This is where the interview became tense. Trump Jr. then blamed the political environment created by the media for the assassination attempt on his father.

“The media has radicalized the people who are trying to kill my father.” We have had to deal with this twice now in the last two months. “I've had to talk to my five young children twice in the last two months about someone trying to shoot their grandfather.”

“You know it didn’t just happen.” That’s not him, that’s a thing created by the media, a fake Russia scenario. They ran with it for years, even when it was disproven, they ran with it. They know that this environment wasn’t just created by Donald Trump.”

Collins said: “Okay but can I just say you can't blame it and everyone wants their dad to be safe, nobody wants their life threatened but you can't blame the media for this Make threats.”

Collins quickly interjected here to respond to some criticism of Trump Jr.

Collins said: “Okay, but all I can say is you can't blame it and everyone wants their dad to be safe. Nobody wants their life threatened, but you can’t blame the media.”

“There is no evidence that these (attacks) were behind it.”

But Trump Jr. interrupted him and said, “If someone gives people a platform for nine years where they can literally call someone Hitler every day, then they can do it.”

“Whether you want to believe it or not, that’s a fact.”

Collins clapped back: “But as you know, JD Vance also once compared your father to Hitler.” He wondered if he was America's Hitler.

Crooks opened fire from a rooftop 130 meters from the stage where the former president stood, addressing thousands of fans at Butler at 6:15 p.m.

The former president then stood up, raised his fist and shouted “Fight, fight, fight” as he was taken away from the scene and to the hospital. Just hours later, he released a statement saying he was fine and describing the moment he felt the bullet pierce his skin.
