Eagles are a prime fit for ex-Seahawks' surprisingly available $70 million star

Eagles are a prime fit for ex-Seahawks' surprisingly available million star

The Philadelphia Eagles could use a boost in the secondary, and they could do so without breaking the bank or making a blockbuster trade.

Philadelphia has some cap space, and surprisingly, a former superstar just became available. The Tennessee Titans are reportedly releasing three-time Pro Bowler Jamal Adams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

“The Titans are honoring former Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams’ request for his release, a source said,” Schefter said. “Adams is healthy and looking forward to his next opportunity. Adams’ agents, Kevin Conner and Robert Brown of Universal Sports Management, confirmed his release.”

There was a time when Adams was one of the best safeties in football. As a member of the New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks, he earned three straight Pro Bowl nominations from 2018 to 2020. He struggled with some injuries during the 2021 to 2023 seasons but is now healthy.

Adams played three games for the Titans this season after signing a one-year deal worth just over $1 million. He signed a four-year deal worth $70 million before the 2021 season and is now significantly cheaper.

It wouldn't be shocking if Adams ended up with a contender hoping to increase his value in free agency, and Philadelphia should be the place to do it. The Eagles are 3-2 so far this season but could use a boost. Adams could be that guy for little money. It seems like a no-brainer to at least call him.
