According to reports, his actions were also not well received by team officials.

Sirianni – who told reporters on Sunday that the Eagles “thrive on the crowd when they cheer us on” when asked if they cheered the fans, but added: “We don't necessarily like it” when they booed , suggesting that this was the mockery of the home audience “Not productive” – apologized for his actions on Monday.

“I tried to show energy and enthusiasm yesterday and I'm sorry and disappointed with how my energy was used at the end of the game,” he told reporters. “My energy should be fully focused on coaching, motivating and celebrating our boys. And I need to have more wisdom and judgment about when to use that energy, and this wasn’t the right time.”

His actions quickly drew the ire of a number of media personalities and became a bigger topic of conversation than the game itself:

However, both his current and former players were more supportive of the head coach.

“I encouraged him to be himself, and he is,” quarterback Jalen Hurts said told reporters regarding Sirianni's fiery side. “I don’t know who said all that. I know I spoke to him. It's just an affirmation that we trust who you are. We trust where you are as a coach and we know we can build with you.”

Brandon Graham on Nick Sirianni: “I told him to be him. I want him to be the Nick of 2022. We've turned our backs on him. Because Philly can be tough – I know all about it.

“Everyone doubts him and the people who don’t doubt him are us,” added safety CJ Gardner-Johnson. “I don’t think you know how much shit he takes on a daily basis and we need to support him for it. I am proud that he is my coach and no one else is my coach.”

Sirianni has been under fire since the Eagles began the 2023 season with a 10-1 record but promptly collapsed, losing six of their last seven games, including a 32-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round.

This led to an offseason full of changes as both coordinators were replaced, the secondary was completely overhauled and Saquon Barkley was brought in to add even more pizzazz to the offense. Sirianni kept his job despite these changes, likely due to the team's three postseason appearances and a Super Bowl berth in his first three years on the job.

However, he will undoubtedly be under the microscope in 2024, and the 3-2 Eagles didn't exactly look like top contenders to start the season. Sunday's actions only heightened the scrutiny he was already facing.
