GREEN BAY (WLUK) — The Green Bay Packers debuted their newest appearance at Lambeau Field on Sunday.

Many fans were also in the spirit as the team hosted its “Winter Warning” game.

The Cheesehead faithful turned into white cheddar when the Packers beat the Texans.

“I think (Jordan) Love and the younger generation have helped lead this team into the future and I’m all in,” said Alex Davison, a Packers fan from Denver, Colorado. “Yes, the whiteout, we would never have done that. 10 years ago this would never have been a game. Never.”

It may not have felt like the frozen tundra, but fans who came prepared with their white jerseys say they like the team's new look.

“Man, it’s great. I really liked it. I think, you know, it's something different, you know, white helmets. I wish they had a stripe at the bottom, like a gold stripe, but it's cool,” said Laquinte Warren of Milwaukee.

Some fans agreed that the whiteout date was an interesting choice given the warmer than usual fall day.

“I told my family too, I was like winter warning?! It’s 78. It’s coming at some point,” Davison said.

“It's a little strange, but for us coming from Houston, it's actually pretty cold, so I think it's appropriate,” said Ryan Gierke, a Packers fan who came from Texas.

However, the Packers wanted to ensure that their Winter Warning game did not overlap with other gameday promotions throughout the season.

“We didn’t want to back it up against Salute to Service or our cancer game or our kickoff game. We really wanted to give it its own day, and that day was available,” said Gabrielle Dow, vice president of marketing and fan engagement for the Green Bay Packers.

The uniforms are inspired by the team's all-white Rush jerseys, which the Packers debuted in 2016.

For the Packers, it looks like the theme could continue into the future.

“It's part of our wardrobe, we'll celebrate it year after year and with the fans out there in white, I think it resonates,” Dow said.

Packers officials also hinted that a new throwback jersey may be in the works.
