Fantasy Football Rankings Week 4 (2024): PPR and Non-PPR

play

Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season is officially underway.

In the three weeks, almost nothing developed as expected. Jayden Daniels is the QB2. Sam Darnold is the QB4. JK Dobbins is RB1. Jauan Jennings is The WR1 (no, seriously). And three of the top six tight ends had a game in which they scored less than a point.

To help you make your toughest lineup decisions, below are my Week 4 fantasy football rankings. Switch between standard, half PPR (points per reception), and full PPR to see where players rank in your league's format rank.

Our team at USA TODAY Sports Network also has all your fantasy football needs covered. Looking for the latest gaming news? We have it. Want to know who the best starts and sits of the week are? We have an article about it. We also have fantasy defense rankings, kicker rankings, and a trade value chart to help you with all your trading decisions.

Given the volatility of this league, and fantasy football in particular, these rankings will be updated up to half an hour before games begin on Sunday afternoon. Let's get down to business.

Week 4 fantasy football quarterback rankings

  • UPGRADE: Baker Mayfield has finished in the top five in two of his three games as a quarterback this year. Jordan Love and Kirk Cousins each had top-12 performances against the Eagles' defense.
  • UPGRADE: Caleb Williams takes on a Rams defense that has allowed the third-most points to opposing quarterbacks. He will also have his full arsenal to call upon as Keenan Allen is expected to be back in the lineup after missing two games with a heel injury.
  • Stock drop: Anthony Richardson has finished his last two games as QB21 and QB27. This week he will face a Steelers team that has given up the fewest fantasy points to opposing signal-callers.
  • Inventory drops: Matthew Stafford will once again be without its best weapons against a Bears team that has seen CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson combine for 21.4 fantasy points over the last two weeks.

Week 4 fantasy football running back rankings

  • STOCK STOCK: Chuba Hubbard had an RB5 finish with 26 touches last week after the Panthers made the QB switch from Bryce Young to Andy Dalton. The Bengals are a no-brainer, but that volume makes him a plug-and-play RB2.
  • UPGRADE: Zack Moss gets a delicious matchup with the Carolina Panthers. Before facing the Raiders' nonexistent running game, the Panthers had allowed Alvin Kamara and JK Dobbins to be top-six running backs against them. Moss has had at least 13 chances (carries + targets) in every game this season.
  • Inventory drops: JK Dobbins will face a Chiefs front that has held Derrick Henry and Bijan Robinson to 10.6 and 12.2 half PPR points, respectively, and he will likely have to do without it both of his first tackles.
  • Inventory down: D'Andre Swift has finished his last two games as RB37 with 18 touches and as RB38 with 15 touches. Despite a good matchup, you would have to be desperate to add Swift to your lineup.

Week 4 fantasy football wide receiver rankings

  • UPGRADE: DeAndre Hopkins revealed a real relationship with Will Levis last week. Considering how shattering this offense was early in the season, they should look to build on that connection.
  • STOCK STOCK: Jahan Dotson has a total of three catches this season, but without AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith in the lineup, he should be the Eagles' de facto WR1. Dotson is a worthwhile flex dart in deeper leagues.
  • Stock Drop: Michael Pittman Jr. finished as WR61, WR72 and WR53 for three weeks. Things don't get any easier against a Steelers secondary that has given up the sixth-fewest points to opposing wideouts.
  • Inventory drops: Xavier Worthy scored two touchdowns in Week 1, but has managed just 52 scoreless yards on eight targets in the two games since. A matchup with a struggling Chargers team could once again result in low volume for the rookie.

Week 4 fantasy football tight end rankings

  • UPGRADE: Dallas Goedert dropped career highs in receptions (10) and yards (170) in Week 3 and should play an important role as the top option in the passing game in Week 4.
  • SET UP STOCK: Speaking of the best option for his passing game: Brock Bowers faces the Browns without Davante Adams in the Raiders' lineup. Double-digit goals should not be difficult to achieve here.
  • Inventory down: Mark Andrews only ran four routes in Week 3 and had one goal. The Bills have given up the eighth-most points to the position, but are starting him this week at their own risk.
