Fantasy Football Start 'Em or Sit 'Em Week 7: Nick Chubb, Jerry Jeudy

Fantasy Football Start 'Em or Sit 'Em Week 7: Nick Chubb, Jerry Jeudy

The Cleveland Browns offense was a dumpster fire with quarterback Deshaun Watson under center, which undoubtedly hampered the production of wide receiver Jerry Jeudy. However, the Browns will get a key part of their offense back this week as running back Nick Chubb makes his long-awaited return.

Jeudy had just one catch for 35 yards in the Week 6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and just two catches for 51 yards over the last two weeks.

Chubb was scheduled to return from the physically unable to perform list a few weeks ago but wasn't activated until Saturday, with head coach Kevin Stefanski saying the star running back would actually fit in.

But do we trust Chubb in his first game in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals? And will Jeudy get enough of a boost from a recent trade from the Browns to get consideration in lineups this week? Let's find out.

Even though Chubb has been cleared to play and is typically a must-have RB1, you may not want to add him to the lineup right away. Because his workload remains unknown.

Offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey called the decision on Chubb's workload during the week a “work in progress,” adding that the team wants to “make sure he's available long-term.”

Not exactly the definitive answer we were looking for, but it's a good indication that the Browns' star will be limited, which makes sense considering this is his first game in over a year.

Even against a Bengals defense that ranks bottom 12 in fantasy points per game given up to running backs, Chubb is nothing more than a touchdown-dependent big-play in his first game back. Flex.

That's not enough to rely on except in the most desperate situations.

Verdict: Sit Chubb

With Amari Cooper traded to the Buffalo Bills, Jeudy becomes the No. 1 option in the wide receiver room in Cleveland. However, that role wasn't fruitful for the more talented Cooper, who ranked as the WR46 overall in fantasy points per game before his trade.

While there's renewed optimism for Jeudy this week, he faces a Bengals defense that's giving up the 11th-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers, and he still has Deshaun Watson at quarterback.

Jeudy isn't a recommended starting option until we see him actually benefit from moving up the depth chart.

Verdict: Sit down, Jeudy
