First Shift, NHL Now, NHL Tonight and On The Fly

NHL Network announces its upcoming programming schedule ahead of the 2024-25 NHL season, which includes a new studio show, an updated broadcast schedule and more than a dozen regular season games in the first four weeks of the season.

NHL Network's revamped programming will include a new one-hour weekday show NHL Tonight: First Shift – a daily, casual and conversational show with hard-hitting opinion and analysis on the day's news – announced last Wednesday. With NHL tonight: First shift NHL Now airs at 4:00 p.m. ET and will now air weekdays at 5:00 p.m. ET throughout the 2024-25 NHL season. Serving as NHL Network's game preview show, it continues to feature candid commentary on the hottest topics and entertaining interviews – including the signature “Players Only” segment – with players from across the game. Beginning every day at 7:00 p.m. ET alongside NHL regular season games, NHL Tonight provides live insight and real-time reaction to goals, breaking news and expert analysis. After each night's games end, On The Fly features all the NHL highlights along with comprehensive analysis, interviews and post-game clips.

The hosts of NHL Network Jamison Coyle, Lauren Gardner, EJ Hradek, Tony Luftman, Kathryn Tappen And Adnan Virk former coaches will join Bruce Boudreau (Winner of the Jack Adams Award 2008), Tony Granato (13-year NHL veteran and former head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers) and John Torchetti (former NHL head coach), former players turned analysts Brian Boyle (2018 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy winner), Ken Daneyko (three-time Stanley Cup winner), Jason Demers (13-year NHL veteran), Stu Grimson (14-year NHL veteran), Scott Hartnell (17-year NHL veteran), Thomas Hickey (9-year NHL veteran), Billy Jaffe, Mike Johnson (11-year NHL veteran), Steve Konroyd (15-year NHL veteran), Bill Lindsay (13-year NHL veteran), Mark Parrish (12-year NHL veteran), Dave Reid (two-time Stanley Cup winner), Mike Rupp (Stanley Cup Champion), Cory Schneider (2011 William M. Jennings Trophy winner), Jody Shelley (12-year NHL veteran) and Kevin Weekes (11-year NHL veteran), along with Sam Cosentino (NHL Draft and Prospects expert) and Mike Kelly (analytics expert) and insider Elliott Friedman will be released throughout the 2024-25 NHL season.

Prior to the start of the season, NHL Network will air a one-hour special NHL Tonight: 2024-25 Season Previewairs tonight, October 7, at 7 p.m. ET with host Tony Luftman and analysts Jason Demers and Mike Rupp discussing the biggest storylines in the NHL.

NHL Network will televise two live games during the first week of the 2024-25 NHL regular season and will broadcast more than a dozen over the course of the first four weeks of the season. The first of 20 NHL Network Showcase Games this season will air on Sunday, November 3rd at 1pm ET when the New York Islanders accept that New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, accessed by NHL Network Keith Irizarry and Mike Johnson.
