Florida State benches Brock Glenn and turns to Luke Kromenhoek

After three ball losses and as many counterattacks duke on Friday, State of Florida made a change at quarterback. Freshmen Luke Kromenhoek came as a replacement Brock Glenn in the second quarter.

Kromenhoek entered the game with 9:51 left in the game, shortly after Duke kicked a field goal to push the lead to 17-3. He remained at quarterback the rest of the half, notably leading a field goal drive that gave the Blue Devils a 17-6 lead with 1:46 left before halftime.

At the time of his exit, Glenn was 3 of 10 for 37 yards, with two interceptions and the lost fumble. Kromenhoek finished the first half 2-for-5 for 12 yards in his first game action of the season.

Kromenhoek arrived on campus this year as a key member of Florida State's recruiting class. The Savannah (Ga.) Mike Norvell previously praised the way Kromenhoek and Glenn behaved in training after Uiagalelei's injury. He said their preparation had been outstanding and they would be ready to take part in the game when their name was called.

“I was really pleased with the way both of these guys prepared beforehand every week because you never know when that opportunity will present itself,” Norvell said. “Obviously the door is open now and I’m excited to see them go through.”
