Goldie Hawn receives the George Eastman Award

Goldie Hawn receives the George Eastman Award

Actress Goldie Hawn will be honored by the George Eastman Museum on Tuesday evening.

“This is really a different kind of honor,” Hawn said. “It's a loving reminder of someone who gave us so much, to be able to express ourselves as people, as artists, to make people laugh and cry, to really express feelings and to give the world an excuse to rest.”

Hawn is the youngest actor to receive the George Eastman Award, given to those who make outstanding contributions to the cinematic arts.

She joins some elite celebrities who have received this honor, including Charlie Chaplin, Martin Scorcese and Meryl Streep.

Hawn is an Academy Award winner who starred in, directed and produced countless films from the late 1960s.

She is also known for founding the Goldie Hawn Foundation, a charity that provides social and emotional learning programs for children to reduce stress and improve concentration.
