Highlights! “Court McGee sets up high-profile 'Prelims' card with his first finish in 14 years |” UFC 307

Court McGee scored his first finish since 2010 at UFC 307 live tonight (Sat., Oct. 5, 2024). ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and triggered the “Prelims” round with a rear-naked choke finish in the first round over Tim Means.

McGee went into this fight as a betting underdog, but had to undergo neck surgery and competed in front of his home crowd. There was never a time for the veteran welterweight to turn back the clock, like tonight. Means is as smart as they come, but he had lost four of his last five games tonight.

The neck surgery must have been just what “Crusher” needed because his hands looked fresh early before he moved in and secured a takedown along the cage. From there, McGee worked to regain control and put pressure on Means with the choke. Means defended well, but when McGee had his hooks, that was all she wrote.

Check out the video highlights below:

McGee, 39, ends a brutal three-fight losing streak with this finish. Some thought the veteran fighter perhaps should have retired tonight after a big win in front of his home crowd, but McGee still has three fights left on his current UFC contract and will continue to play spoilsport in one of the sport's most dangerous divisions.
