Highways in Utah face travel issues related to weather

Weather-related travel issues are expected to occur on several Utah highways Friday due to the winter storm moving through the state.

Utah Department of Transportation officials said the mountain snow that began falling Thursday will transition to a mix of rain and snow throughout Friday. There may be snow and snow grains on higher routes.

While snowfall is expected at elevations between 7,000 and 9,000 feet, the Wasatch Front is unlikely to see snow on roads, but there will be morning showers.

The wintry weather system is expected to bring rain showers to southeastern Utah through the weekend, with the storm dissipating by Sunday.

Most roads along the I-15 and I-80 corridors will remain wet until the storm subsides. Light slush may occur Friday morning along I-15 and I-80 up to Parley's Summit.

UDOT has advised motorists to expect weather-related travel hazards on the following Utah roads Friday:
