Hundreds of frozen waffles recalled due to listeria risk – here's the full list

The recalled waffles – including popular brands such as Best Choice, Target's Good & Gather and Walmart's Great Value – were distributed in the United States and Canada, the manufacturer said.

Consumers may have some of the recalled products in their freezers.

Food packaging typically has barcodes on it that indicate when it was made and which factory the food was made in. TreeHouse Foods encourages customers to check their freezers for frozen waffle products and look for the affected product codes listed on their website.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Listeria is a serious infection that poses the greatest risk to older adults, people with immunodeficiencies and pregnant women. It can cause fever, pain, headache, stiffness, confusion, loss of balance, cramps and diarrhea, the agency said.

According to experts, the bacterium has an incubation period of three to 70 days.

TreeHouse Foods did not respond to requests for further comment.

The waffle recall comes shortly after BrucePac, a major meat packer, recalled nearly 12 million pounds of meat – some of which were sent to New York school cafeterias.

Meanwhile, the USDA is conducting an internal investigation into its handling of Boar's Head after the brand recalled more than 7 million pounds of cold cuts in July due to listeria contamination.

At least ten people died and dozens were hospitalized due to the disease.

Boar's Head had operated a dirty, insect-infested meat factory and committed dozens of health and safety violations over the years.
