India's expected starting XI against Bangladesh 2nd T20I: Expected to debut; Sanju Samson loses his place?

India's Predicted XI vs Bangladesh 2nd T20I: India prevailed against Bangladesh in the series opener, chasing 128 in just 11.5 overs in Gwalior. Express pacer Mayank Yadav and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy made their India debut at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium. While Mayank got a wicket on his debut, Reddy was a bit too expensive with the ball but also struggled to replicate his IPL heroics with the bat. However, both could be rested for Wednesday's game in Delhi. Suryakumar's side have already secured a 1-0 lead in the series after registering a seven-wicket win over Bangladesh in the first T20I match in Gwalior.

India and Bangladesh have faced each other 15 times so far in the shortest format of the game. India dominated the visitors and emerged victorious 14 times.

As for the team's form in this format recently, the hosts have won all of their last five meetings. India could usher in some changes as Mayank and Reddy will make way for Tilak Varma and Harshit, who will make his debut.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav had recently stressed on the need to manage Mayank's workload. Former pacer RP Singh, who was part of India's winning squad in the 2007 T20 World Cup, also reiterated Suryakumar's statement.

“People talk a lot about the workload, that they should bowl less, but I feel the gym sessions should be less. He bowled well in his first competitive game after the injury in the IPL.”

“Pace is indeed important and he has that, but at the same time his skills should be improved and there should be a roadmap for that. He has to do it himself with the help of the NCA and the other BCCI coaches,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson is likely to retain his place in the XI at the top after his 19-ball 29 in Gwalior.

India predicted XI: Sanju Samson (Week), Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Riyan Parag, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthy
