Instagram down: Meta-owned Instagram down for thousands of users in India: Report

According to outage detection service Downdetector, Instagram, Meta's popular social media platform, has experienced an outage affecting thousands of users across India.

Data from the outage detection platform shows that 64% of users reported problems logging into their Instagram accounts, while 25% experienced server connection issues and 12% experienced application errors.

Downdetector tracks outages by compiling status reports from multiple sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.

Users respond

Netizens took to social media platform X to express their concerns and frustration. One user wrote: “#Instagram is unavailable for thousands of users in India, leaving many without their daily scrolling functionality.” Here's hoping the outage is resolved before we all remember what the real world looks like. “
